In January 2007, RCRC members approved the draft bylaws and articles of incorporation.
The Club has applied for non-profit status and approval typically takes from
six months to one year.
Read the statement below from Peter Brostrom explaining the reasons for the club's application for incorporation.

Statement from Peter Brostrom
Many of us have recognized for a number of years that the club had outgrown its informal organizational
structure and needed to legally incorporate with the state. Bob Parker worked with law students from McGeorge University
to draft the articles of incorporation and the new bylaws. Comments and suggestions were taken from club officers,
coaches, and the junior crew board on the bylaws and slight revisions were made. If the club membership approves the bylaws
in January, the articles of incorporation will be filed with the state soon afterward so that when annual memberships come due
in July, members will be joining the new incorporated club.
Incorporation provides several benefits to the club. First it
makes it easier for the club to conduct everyday business like opening bank accounts, hiring employees and paying payroll taxes.
Incorporation provides better liability protection to our club officers and directors. And once the incorporation is approved,
the club will file for non profit status which will help our fundraising efforts.
The club structure will remain virtually
the same under the new bylaws. The only significant change will be the addition of two junior crew board representatives to
the club board of directors.
