A Youth Summer 1K Regatta
Race Concept
Sol-de-Sac Sprints gives regional junior rowers something exciting to inspire dedication to training during the summer. Competing in exciting 1000 meter races is a new experience and allows athletes to compete in multiple events.
The regatta structure rewards individual crew success with medals and also emphasizes the team effort as a whole with a classic pewter Team Trophy. Every second of every race counts towards the team competition so every athlete is equally important towards that goal. Mixed events allow boys and girls to compete together as teammates and is an important part of this event.
Coaches can use this regatta as motivation for their summer athletes attendance and strategize about how to pursue the team competition; a club can compete with as few as 25 rowers or as many as 100.
A maximum of 7 teams will be entered including RCRC. Smaller clubs are welcome to join together to form a composite team. Each team that enters is automatically entered in all 34 events for a total entry fee of $425. (100 rower seats are included with your entry!) Each Club within a composite team must comply with all rules to be eligible.
