Candidates seeking a fuller coaching schedule could apply to both a Junior and Masters coach role, for a total of 16-20 practice hours per week.

Executive Director

River City Rowing Club (River City) located in West Sacramento, California is seeking an energetic full time Executive Director (ED)to continue and expand the club’s mission to Get People Rowing and Keep People Rowing bringing in more of our surrounding communities into the sport. Founded in 1983 and growing each year the River City rows in the protected Deep Water Channel that connects the Sacramento River to the Bay Area Delta allowing for year-round rowing and providing space for multiple teams to practice at the same time. Our programs consist of competitive Juniors, recreational and competitive Masters, Rowsist (a cancer survivor program, https://www.rivercityrowing.org/rowsist), Adult and Junior Learn to Row, private rowers, and hosts several regattas and scrimmages throughout the year. River City is at the center of three large communities in the Sacramento Valley: Davis, Woodland and Sacramento where most of our members live and work. The ideal candidate for will be one that is: · Willing to be flexible, adaptable, learn and grow; · excited to lead and continue the growth of an rowing organization by engaging with its members and supporting an inclusive environment; · develop strong and effective relationships with staff and volunteers; · expanding community outreach; · support and expand fundraising efforts; · effectively develop, oversee, and manage budgets; · be able to manage multiple priorities; · and execute short- and long-term plans and objectives. The ED will manage one full time Assistant Director, part time staff of 13-15 coaches, and enthusiastic community of volunteers, and supported by an engaged Board of Directors. · The position offers a competitive salary between $75,000 and $85,000 per year depending on experience. · Flexible schedule with required attendance at all club events. · Full access to River City’s facilities and equipment. · Ongoing supported professional development. Assistant Coach - Junior Team 

Under the direction of the Junior Team lead coaches, the Junior Team Assistant Coach runs regular season practices for athletes assigned to them that day, depending on the relative need of the lead coaches. On most days the assistant coach will work with a group of athletes separately from the lead coach, implementing the practice plan provided by the lead coach, running the athletes through the assigned workout/drills for the day, and providing technical coaching while ensuring the safety of all athletes under their supervision. Communication with the lead coach is essential to this role, both to understand the daily plan and goals, and to provide the lead coach with a brief summary of the practice and athletes’ progress.
