Competitive RowinG for 8th* - 12th grades

*upon coaches' two-week evaluation

River City Rowing Club includes two rowing programs for youth athletes: the Junior Learn to Row Program, a series of summer classes designed to introduce 8th-12th graders to rowing, and the competitive River City Junior Rowing Team, roughly aligned with the school year.

Junior Learn to Row Program: June - August

Start rowing with a summer Junior Learn to Row Class, keep rowing with summer Junior Learn to Row TEAM sessions. RCRC’s Junior Learn to Row program is designed for teens in grades 8 through 12 with no rowing experience, introducing the fundamentals of rowing and steering a sculling boat. Learn the basics of a challenging, engaging and fun sport.

River City Junior Rowing Team: September 2 - May 4

River City Rowing Junior Rowing is a competitive team geared toward athletes looking for something that will challenge them both in sports and in life. RCRC offers teens (14-18yr) a safe environment in which fitness, self-discipline, teamwork and camaraderie are emphasized. RCRC trains from early September through early May, competing against more than 35 other junior rowing programs in the Southwest region. RCRC competes in regional and national events, including the USRowing Southwest Youth Championship, to qualify for the USRowing Youth National Championship regatta.

Our squads - Youth/U17 Men, Youth/U17 Women, U16/Novice Men, and U16/Novice Women - generally have 16 - 32 athletes each. We take pride in the abilities of our professional coaches to provide a positive, challenging, inclusive, and instructive environment for each team member.
